collective avantgarde realizes the purchase of the insolvent business “Feinmechanische Werkstatt Colette Carius-Harris” in cooperation with MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH.
Jena/Mühlhausen/Weingarten-Grabe, 20th of June 2017 – collective avantgarde corporate finance GmbH (Jena) – an expert for consultancy, purchase and sale of businesses – successfully concluded the purchase of “Feinmechanische Werkstatt Colette Carius-Harris” by MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH – Holding. Consequently, the international business based in Mühlhausen acquired a strategically important supplier in Thuringia.
Metal components have been turned, drilled and milled in Weingarten-Grabe, since June 1960. Colette Carius Harris is a medium sized business with 15 employees and a long-standing tradition. They own modern lathes and milling machines and produce for multiple enterprises in central Germany. The main cause for the purchase was the importance of the supplier for MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH – Holding and the protection of jobs in western Thuringia, as well as further strategic development with a new and bigger shareholder.
In this light, collective avantgarde conducted several exploratory talks and negotiations with the insolvency administrator. The M&A-consultancy firm from Jena – managed by Steffen Glaubrecht – and MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH – Holding were able to present the best continuation concept for the troubled business by focusing on new investments in machinery.
The internationally operating company MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH – Holding is specialized in metalworking, special-purpose engineering, surface coating and machining. The enterprise experienced strong growth in the last few years.
The negotiations with insolvency administrator Dr. Frank Kreuznacht were fair and constructive at all times and met the expectations of MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH – Holding. “In collaboration with collective avantgarde, we developed a strategic approach and conducted the offer preparation and contract negotiations in a target-oriented and well structured manner. Therefore, the purchase agreement could be signed shortly after. A key point for us was ensuring the positions of the majority of employees – and that’s what collective avantgarde achieved.“ – Tino Feigenspan, director and shareholder of MÖVE-I.M.A. GmbH – Holding.
Additionally, a good personal relationship and pleasant atmosphere during negotiations led to choosing the business from Weingarten. The purchase was successfully concluded within a few months and investments in machinery and construction have already been carried out by the new owners.

Joyful week for children suffering from kidney disease
Jena. A few weeks ago, ten kids and adolescents - suffering from chronic kidney disease, requiring dialysis or having transplanted organs – got to spend a week in “Schullandheim Stern”. They were accompanied by their supervisors from Jena’s hospital’s children-dialysis-center.
The children experienced happy days with boat cruises on the river Saale, hiking, visiting Jena’s “Kulturarena” and theatre performances on “Schottplatz”. The young patients got to know each other and shared their experiences. For most of them it was the only opportunity to travel and get in contact with others suffering from kidney disease.
Thanks to the donations from “Audi Quattro Cup” of golfers, the children were enabled to experience the joyful week. These donations have been given for many years. Only yesterday, 1750 Euro from this year’s cup in Blankenhain were handed to the children-dialysis-association in Jena.
